There are 3 personalized book options to choose from. Which book option is the best one for me?

All of our book options have been specially created to provide your child with a book that is entertaining, enriching and unique to him/her.

For newborns, you may wish to purchase the Text option which contains the child’s name and date of birth, and up to two adult names.

However, older children – and even many babies! – enjoy reading colourful storybooks.  You can help stimulate their cognitive development with either the Child option or the Family option. Both books contain a photo of the child. Plus, the Family option has photos of one or two adults which helps to create a one-of-a-kind family storybook!

If you are still uncertain, or you wish to give a Mini Me’s Book as a present, you can purchase a gift card. This will allow the gift recipient to create their own Mini Me’s book.

Can I have two children appear in the book instead of one?

We understand that some families have more than one child.  However, our book has been carefully written and developed so that one child is the central character – or star – of the story.  We ask that you please upload one child’s photo only.  If you upload photos of two different children, we will contact you and ask you to confirm which child is the star of the story.

I only want to have one adult’s photo in my book. Can I replace the second adult’s photo with that of another child’s photo instead?

Our book has been specially developed so that one child is the star of the story.  You may either add a photo of a second adult, or you can opt for one adult only in your book.  If you chose one adult only, then the second adult character will default to the illustrated face.

I want to have my child’s and/or family photos in my book, but I don’t have a digital photo.

If you only have a print of your desired photo, you can have the photo scanned at a reputable photocopier. Please ensure that your photo(s) are scanned at 300 dpi and saved as a jpeg. An ideal size is 1200 x 1600 pixels, or 4x6 inches at 300dpi.

Unfortunatly, photos taken on a camera phone are not high resolution and will not print well. We require high-quality photo(s) to produce a high-quality book.  If we cannot use your photo, we will contact you and ask you to submit another photo of higher resolution.

Can you touch up my photograph?

Yes! We provide minor image manipulation or photo re-touching such as removing red eyes, skin blemishes, cropping, etc, free of charge. However, if your photo requires more work, we may need to contact you and ask you to submit another photo.

What kind of photo should I upload?

A great photo helps to make a great book! Your photo is extremely important. Please follow these photo tips:

• Front view of face: look directly into the camera at eye level. No clothing or objects should obstruct the face.
  
• Lighting: Indirect daylight works best, e.g. Outside - light shade.  Indoors - a well-lit room.
  
• 1 person per photo: To ensure the accuracy of each book, please crop out any other individuals.  Please upload one photo for each person, e.g. one photo for the child, one photo for Adult #1, etc.
  
• No red eyes
  
• Color photos only: no black & white or sepia photos.  Our keepsake books work best with colour photos but would work well with black and white too.
  
• 10MB per photo: Most importantly, the image should be the highest resolution possible. An ideal size is 1200x1600 pixels, or 4x6 inches at 300dpi.
  
• Copyright free: copyrights must belong to you alone, and not to anyone else

What do you do with my photo(s) after my order is placed?

Should you decide to purchase another Mini Me’s book, we securely archive your photo(s) in our database to provide ease of re-ordering.  If you do not wish to have your photo(s) stored in our system, we will happily remove and delete your photo(s) when you send an email to removephoto@minimesbooks.com.

What if I don't know the child’s name?

If the baby is not yet born, or you are unsure of the spelling of the child's name, you can purchase a Mini Me’s gift card instead. The electronic gift card does not have an expiry date, and may be redeemed at any time.

Are your books printed in any other languages?

Currently, our books are available in English.  However, we hope to accommodate other languages in the future.  If you have a particular language request, we welcome your suggestion at help@minimesbooks.com.

ORDERS & DELIVERY

What forms of payment can I use?

We use Paypal, which accepts all major credit cards; Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.  PayPal is Safe and Easy and works seamlessly with your existing credit card and checking account.

How do you ship my order?

We ship using Canada Post as they are the most economical choice and offer comparable delivery time as competitive carriers.  Our shipping costs include a small handling charge.

Do you mail internationally?

Yes! We mail across North America and most other countries that you request. Please note that the customer is responsible for shipping costs and any customs duties. We are unable to ship to mail boxes. If you are outside North America, please send us an email at help@minimesbooks.com.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Due to each book’s individual personalization, orders usually take 1-2 weeks for production, plus 1 week for delivery.  We try our very best to make these timelines as short as possible.  To expedite your order by , you can chose the Priority mailing option. Please keep in mind that we are not responsible for shipping delays once your book order is mailed.

I want to give a book as a gift, but it doesn't arrive for 3-5 weeks. What can I do?

You can purchase a gift card. The gift card will be emailed to your desired recipient, who can then order their book online.  You can also print out a hard copy of the gift card and give that to your recipient.

What is your return policy?

We want to make sure you are completely happy with your purchase.  If you are not totally satisfied, please contact us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund the cost of your book(s). Please send us an email at help@minimesbooks.com or call 1-888-339-4520.

Please note that we are not responsible for any typographical errors resulting from incorrectly entered information. Shipping costs are not refundable.
